WORLD RENOWNED EXPERT IN HAIR, DR. RALPH TRUEB JOINS LEXINGTON INT'L MEDICAL ADVISORY BOARD 

Ralph Trüeb, MD, an international expert in hair and disorders of hair is now a member of the Lexington International Medical Advisory Board.

July 12 , 2010 – Boca Raton, FL - Lexington International, LLC developer and manufacturer of the HairMax LaserComb ®, is pleased to announce that the  international expert on hair disorders, Dr. Ralph Trüeb, has joined the company’s Medical Advisory Board. The HairMax is the only home use laser phototherapy device proven effective for the treatment of certain classes of hereditary hair loss in males and is FDA Class 2 Cleared for marketing.   

Dr. Trüeb is in private practice at the Center for Dermatology and Hair Diseases Wallisellen in Zurich, Switzerland. He is also currently President of the European Hair Research Society.   His interests cover hair diseases, hair ageing, environmental factors, and the role of inflammation in alopecia.  Other interests of Dr. Trüeb are patient expectation management and psychocutaneous disorders of the hair and scalp.  Dr. Trüeb has currently authored 145 peer-reviewed scientific publications and three textbooks on hair and is considered to be a world renowned expert in the field.

Lexington will be seeking expert guidance and advisory assistance from Dr. Trüeb on clinical research and study protocols.  Lexington will also be relying on his expertise to help design mechanistic and clinical research programs.  Lexington looks forward to the contributions Dr. Trüeb will make towards enhancing  the credibility of  photo-biostimulation  as an accepted modality for hair loss. 

Dr. Trüeb is the co-author of the seminal book on hair, Hair Growth and Disorders. He recently co-edited a book entitled Aging Hair in which he attempted to provide an up-to-date overview regarding all aspects of hair aging.  The book includes in-depth contributions from internationally recognized experts on the biologic basis as well as current concepts for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of hair aging.  Dr. Trüeb contributed original chapters in the book regarding inflammation and fibrosis in androgenetic alopecia and the effects of tobacco smoking on hair in which he provides links between smoking and hair loss.
