We all know that hair loss impacts people in different ways, but we wanted to find out specifically how it affected those with the condition. We recently completed a large 6 month clinical research study on the efficacy of the HairMax in over 100 males. As part of the study we asked the subjects to tell us how hair loss impacted them in the following ways:

  • I. Assessment of Hair Loss Negatively Affecting Life
  • II. Assessment of Hair Loss Affecting Self-Esteem
  • III. Assessment of Hair Loss Causing Anxiety and/or Depression

The results of this part of the study showed that as expected, about 50% of all subjects in the study said that hair loss negatively affected life and about 50% said it did not.

One of the major findings though, was that almost 60% of subjects said that hair loss affected their self- esteem to some degree, while only about 33% of subjects said it did not. A second major finding was that, as far as hair loss causing anxiety and/or depression, only about 25% said that it did to some degree while over 60% said it did not.

So the conclusion of these data is that yes, hair loss definitely has an impact on life for some people, but that hair loss mostly impacts how people feel about themselves (self-esteem). The good news was that most people do not become depressed or anxious over the condition.

While these results came from a clinical study on hair loss where the subjects in the study were motivated to do something about their hair and take part in a six month study, the results are never-the-less revealing. It showed that hair loss should be taken seriously, and should not be considered a frivolous trivial matter that can be solved by simply ‘wearing a hat’.

It is important to realize that if the hair loss is affecting you as it did to those in the study you CAN do something about it – and the sooner the better for best results. There are 2 drugs on the market that are proven to work in treating hair loss and the HairMax LaserComb® joins them as the device is the only home use laser phototherapy medical device that has not only been proven to work, but also has FDA clearance for marketing.

So take charge of your hair loss NOW and do something about it – you can make a difference in how you feel about yourself!
